Food Rescue

May 4th, 2011

What is Food Rescue?

Food Rescue involves the safe  recovery of prepared foods that would otherwise go to waste and the distribution of the food to others in need.

The Hunger Coalition  participates in food rescue in as many avenues as become open to us. Volunteers from the Hunger Coalition pick up the food from various locations around town and deliver it to Salvation Army’s Community Kitchen on 4th street.

Salvation Army’s Community Kitchen serves three meals a day, 365 days a year. We are pleased to partner with them in this effort.

If you are interested in collaborating through volunteering to pick up food, or if your business is interested in donating your goods, or if you have any other questions please contact us.
